within the novel, Siddhartha, a tender guy, leaves his relatives for a contemplative existence, then, stressed, discards it for one of many flesh. He conceives a son, yet bored and sickened by means of lust and greed, strikes on back. close to melancholy, Siddhartha involves a river the place he hears a special sound. This sound indications the genuine starting of his existence -- the start of ache, rejection, peace, and, eventually, knowledge.
