Place and Displacement within the Narrative Worlds of Jorge Luis Borges and Julio Cortázar engages the notions of position and displacement as heuristic units for literary research of Borges’s and Cortázar’s narratives. It maps out those authors’ visions of position and displacement in a few of their most renowned texts; locates the ‘place’ of Borges’s texts inside of Cortázar’s fictional universe; and delineates new routes in communique among diversified literary traditions, and philosophical and anthropological discourses. This booklet additionally means that the problem of a strict competition among position and displacement in Borges’s and Cortázar’s works is either consultant and emblematic of a continuum of Latin American literature.
